Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Film
PVC film was once widely used in flexible packaging but has gradually
been restricted due to environmental concerns, and is now only applied in specific fields.
Advantages: - High transparency, good gloss, and strong printability; - High plasticity, can be made into heat-shrinkable films,
suitable for packaging irregularly shaped products (e.g., toys, stationery).
Disadvantages: - Contains plasticizers (such as phthalates), which may migrate into food, failing to meet food
safety requirements (especially in high-temperature environments); - Non-biodegradable and releases toxic gases when burned, with poor environmental
friendliness, leading to restrictions on its use in many countries; - Poor low-temperature resistance and prone to embrittlement.
Applicable Scenarios: Non-food packaging (e.g., packaging for toys, electronic accessories), and is gradually being replaced by PET and PP.
